Best All Inclusive Resorts in Mexico for Families
What Is the Best All-Inclusive Resort in Mexico for Families?
It’s hard to choose the best all-inclusive resort in Mexico for families because they are all family-dependent.
For families who want ultra-luxury, Rosewood Mayakoba in the Riviera Maya is a great upgrade pick, with butler service, certified babysitters, and a guided cenote kids’ program.
And if your family wants adventure baked right in, Hotel Xcaret Mexico’s All-Fun Inclusive package gives unlimited access to six adventure parks. All 15 resorts on this list span four Mexican regions: Cancun, the Riviera Maya, Los Cabos, and Puerto Vallarta.
All-Inclusive Resorts for Families: Cancun
You’ll find several all-inclusive resorts in Mexico for families throughout the Yucatan Peninsula, from Cancun to Tulum, just a short drive away! Here’s my pick for the best ones.
1. Finest Playa Mujeres – Cancún
This all-inclusive resort is one of three of the Excellence properties located on Playa Mujeres, outside of the Cancun tourist zone. The adjacent properties, Beloved and Excellence, are adults-only. Finest Playa Mujeres is considered one of the best family resorts in Mexico.
The resort is actually divided into two areas: family-friendly and adults-only. It’s an invisible line, but it seems to work. Some family rooms have a walk-out swimming pool. I don’t recommend this if your kids are little, but otherwise, it’s a pretty nice option to have!

The Kids’ Club at Finest Playa Mujeres is free, but children between the ages of 3 and 6 years must have a parent stay with them. The family also has the option to hire a babysitter to watch over the children (this is charged hourly). This is one of the most toddler-friendly resorts in Mexico.
Children aged 7 and older can be dropped off at the kids’ club but need to be signed in and out by parents. Each day there are different games, crafts, and hands-on activities for the kids.
Outside the kids’ club, children will enjoy the water play area, the swimming pools, the kids’ spa, and activities like kayaking and snorkeling. I think this is definitely one of the best all-inclusive resorts for families in Cancun!

2. Paradisus La Esmeralda – Playa del Carmen
Paradisus Playa del Carmen is divided into a kid-friendly side and an adults-only side (La Perla), so it is possible to sneak away for some quiet time! Kids ages 5 to 12 will love the Kids Zone, with its daily crafts and activities on the beach.
Children ages one to 4 can stay in the daycare room, and babysitting is available 24 hours a day. For teens, there’s snorkeling, kayaking, and the game room. Paradisus also has a family waterpark that kids will love.
The swim-up hotel rooms on the first floor are worth the expense because they allow families to relax right outside the room. Try the Family Concierge Service for additional amenities, such as welcome packages for kids, milk and cookie turndown service, and an Xbox in your suite on request!
Paradisus has 14 different dining options to suit all tastes, big and small. The Paradisus La Esmeralda in Playa del Carmen will be enjoyed by all ages.
Note: There’s also a Paradisus Cancun that’s closer to the Cancun airport (this one is about 45 minutes away). It has similar amenities, and it’s another great family option.

3. Rosewood Mayakoba
Rosewood Mayakoba is a serene lagoon escape set along the Caribbean beachfront in the Riviera Maya, connected by waterways and mangrove trails that give the resort a quieter, more nature-immersed feel than the bigger beach resorts up the coast.

The Rosewood Explorers program is where this property really shines for families. Kids can head out on a guided cenote tour of El Burrodromo to spot cave bats and ancient rock formations. There’s also a 2.5-mile bike ride through the mangrove forest, an eco-tour, pottery workshops, and even a kids’ DJ class. Little ones will also love pizza and cookie-making classes, s’mores by the fire pit, and themed nights like Pirate Night and Mayan Celebration.
Families traveling with babies and toddlers especially love it here. The resort can outfit your suite with a crib, baby monitor, bottle warmer, and other essentials on request, and certified in-house and outside babysitters are available to book through the concierge or your butler.
Kids’ Club access starts at age 4, and the beachfront Aquí Me Quedo pool and beach club is dedicated to families, while Casa del Lago stays adults-only during the day.

There are plenty of family-friendly resorts in Cabo. It was hard to choose which ones to include here, but these are a handful that really stand out!

Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos, one of the best all-inclusive resorts in Cabo for families, is located in San José del Cabo, a quick 20-minute right from the Los Cabos airport.
There are both swim-up suites, large master suites (with either a king or doubles), and even a two-bedroom ocean view suite (quite possibly my favorite on the property).

The Kids Club is perfect for younger kids, with its playground, fun board games, and Spanish classes, as well as a water park. The resort’s Tortuguitas Kids Club is where the fun really happens. Kids can go on a scavenger hunt, build sandcastles, take a Spanish lesson, learn to cook, or gather the family for a movie night. There’s even special family holiday programming throughout the year.
Beyond the kids’ club, there are multiple dining options, from the elevated Don Manuel’s to the more laid-back Beach Club. 15. Conrad Punta Mita
The Conrad Punta Mita is one of the most culturally immersive all-inclusive resorts in the region. Families will appreciate that kids under 12 eat free from the kids’ menu, and there’s a dedicated Kids’ Club with activities designed to bring multiple generations together.

There’s also a fun slide right on property that drops kids into the pools, so it’s an easy sell for the little ones.

How to Choose the Best All-Inclusive Mexico Resort for Your Family
With 15 resorts across four regions, the hardest part is narrowing it down. Here are the questions worth asking before you book.
How old are your kids?
Toddler families should consider Finest Playa Mujeres (baby concierge, free kids’ club from age 3) and Rosewood Mayakoba (cribs, bottle warmers, certified babysitters on call). Families with tweens and teens will get more out of Grand Velas, Hilton Cancun Mar Caribe, or Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos, all of which have dedicated teen lounges with real programming.
How big is your group?
If you are traveling as a family of 5 or a multi-gen group, look for resorts with connecting suites or multi-bedroom configurations.
Hilton Cancun Mar Caribe has connecting suites built for larger families. Grand Residences Puerto Morelos offers 1-to-3-bedroom master suites with full kitchens. Conrad Punta Mita’s larger room count also makes it a practical choice for big groups.
Which region fits your itinerary?
Cancun and the Riviera Maya offer the widest choice of resorts and the most competitive pricing, plus easy access to cenotes, Xcaret parks, and Tulum.
Los Cabos is drier, has a more dramatic desert-meets-sea landscape, and suits families who want a bit more luxury with a quieter vibe.
Puerto Vallarta sits on Banderas Bay and pairs a colonial town with lush jungle, making it a strong pick for families who want culture alongside the beach.
What is your budget?
Options on this list span from the mid-luxury tier (Grand Residences, Holiday Inn Club Vacations) all the way to the ultra-luxury tier (One&Only Palmilla, Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal, Rosewood Mayakoba). Most Cancun and Riviera Maya properties sit comfortably in the upper-mid range.
Is safety a concern?
All 15 resorts on this list are gated, secured properties with 24-hour security. The Riviera Maya (Playa del Carmen, Puerto Morelos, Tulum corridor) and Los Cabos are consistently rated among the safest tourist zones in Mexico. Cancun’s Hotel Zone (Zona Hotelera) is also heavily patrolled and considered safe for tourists. Stick to the resort zone and book excursions through the resort’s own concierge for extra peace of mind.
